At the Chongqing Zoo in China, four adorable pandas, named Shuangshuang, Chongchong, Xixi, and Qingqing, delighted visitors and onlookers by enjoying a delightful feast of bamboo sticks at a small picnic table. Their charming display was likened to a scene from Goldilocks by one of the visitors. The pandas were seen peeling and munching on fresh bamboo shoots as part of a Mid-Autumn Festival celebration, creating a heartwarming and picturesque moment reminiscent of a fairytale.
Pandas melted the hearts of visitors at Chinese zoo after sitting at a table to eat bamboo in a scene that seemed taken straight out of the Goldilocks fairytale
With their round bodies, big eyes, and playful demeanor, pandas are inherently cute to humans. Scientists call this phenomenon “neoteny”
The zoo, situated in southwest China, is home to 23 pandas, including the four endearing stars of the enchanting picnic scene. Renowned for its delightful residents, the Chongqing reserve frequently shares videos showcasing the pandas’ daily routines.
Pandas have evolved some features to protect themselves from harm but, coincidentally, those same adaptations make them look wholesome and cute to humans
The charming sight of the bears gathering at the table and chairs to indulge in bamboo snacks was so strikingly human-like that some observers even speculated whether the animals were humans disguised in costumes putting on a performance. This fascinating behavior can be understood by comparing the size of a wolf’s skull to that of a poodle. As animals become more domesticated, they tend to rely more on the care of others, resulting in features that resemble those of children or, in this case, pups.
