Artist Tatsuya Tanaka has been captivating us with his imaginative miniatures, creating tiny scenes every day for the past 13 years. His work continues to be as delightful and innovative as ever. What makes his ongoing art project truly remarkable is his use of everyday objects, such as white bread and wallets, to bring these miniature worlds to life.
Tanaka’s ongoing Miniature Calendar project involves creating a new scene using household objects and tiny figures every day since 2011. His compositions are inspired by a wide range of influences, including pop culture, global events, seasons, and holidays. Recently, his work has been especially influenced by spring, featuring cherry blossoms in many of his relaxed scenes, such as bikers by a riverbank and a peaceful carriage ride by a sakura tree. He also marked Star Wars Day with an R2-D2 sauce dispenser and celebrated Mother’s Day with a heart bouquet.
